Awedh is a chief engineer at a major industrial manufacturer in Saudi Arabia, with 20 years of professional and management experience. As his role brought more cross-functional leadership and long-term planning, he wanted to add global business strategy to his engineering expertise.
Why the MBA in Global Strategy
He chose the MBA in Global Strategy at Dominican University of California through AreteUp to understand how engineering-driven organisations compete in global markets, and to build leadership skills beyond engineering.
Learning beyond the classroom
A highlight was the DUC South Korea immersion: lectures on global leadership, visits to companies and innovation hubs, a meeting with university leadership including the Dean, and a university-issued immersion certificate. AreteUp's program manager planned for prayer times, halal dining and cultural needs, so participants from the Middle East could focus on learning.
Awedh now weighs engineering challenges in their wider strategic and organisational context.
“The MBA expanded how I see my role as an engineer. The South Korea immersion, together with AreteUp's thoughtful support, allowed me to experience global leadership in a way that truly respected who we are and how we learn.”
